Punta del Este, Uruguay's premier beach destination, just received a record visit of a little under 8000.
Four cruise ships carrying around 8000 people landed on the shores of Punta del Este this week. While not everyone of these 8000 people did not make it ashore, a significant percentage did, establishing the record.
