That is indeed true. Privacy is really important. Who would ever want you conversations to be overheard next door? I'm sure nobody. Apartment units are just a wall after the other. Because of the thin barrier your neighbor gets to find out the gist of what you are talking about. I agree that owners should do adequate sound tests. This is to ensure that the privacy of the tenants are protected. This is an apartment living, there are risks. If you are a private person, apartment living is not really for you. Many people prefer not to live in an apartment building because they wat to preserve their privacy. They don't want other people to listen to their conversations behind the thin barriers. I suggest that apartment owners should follow standards on sound-proofing to protect their tenants as well. They also have to check the verandas and balconies to see whether the people living their are comfortable with the space. Always bear in mind that everyone is just next door, so be considerate.
